Our Mission: Celebrating Minnesota's Rich Musical History
Minneapolis Rotary Club 9.5 exists to attract and engage potential members through the universal language of music. We create and support activities that showcase the incredible diversity and rich history of Minnesota music via strategic partnerships and support of other oganizations like D.E.M.O (Diverse Emerging Music Organization) and its Minnesota Music Archive initiative
Our mission goes beyond appreciation. We actively work to preserve Minnesota's musical heritage, by curating and creating opportunities for Minnesota music lovers of all tastes to connect, collaborate, and contribute to our vibrant cultural landscape. Through music appreciation, we build bridges between generations, cultures, and communities.

Rotary Club 9.5 Music with a Mission is thrilled to co-host the launch celebration of D.E.M.O's (Diverse Emerging Music Organization) Minnesota Music Archive, a statewide digital preservation project honoring ALL Minnesota recorded music!

6:15 Performance: Dust of Suns Ensemble 7: oo Performance and welcome by Terrell X: DEMO Board, performer, and cultural organizer active in the Twin Cities music and arts community. Comments by • Christine Bartyzal: DEMO Board, Fire House Performing Arts Center Board, Twin Cities musician, Indigenous artist and the MMA website developer • Mark Wheat: One of the most recognizable voices in the Twin Cities music scene. He is a longtime radio DJ, music curator, and advocate for local artists. • Andrea Swensson: A prominent chronicler of Minnesota’s music scene. A journalist and broadcaster known for documenting the history and evolution of Minneapolis-St. Paul music. Her books include Got to Be Something Here and Deeper Blues: The Life, Songs, and Salvation of Cornbread Harris. o Preview of Swennson’s in-production documentary film based on Deeper Blues 7:25 DJ Stage One: A veteran Twin Cities hip-hop DJ and producer known for his long involvement in the Minneapolis music scene and for championing local hip-hop artists.
7:50 Agnes Uncaged: A Minneapolis-based band known for blending indie rock, garage rock, and punk- influenced sounds within the Twin Cities music scene.
8:35 DJ Mary Lucia: A longtime Minneapolis radio host, DJ, and cultural voice who has been a key figure in the Twin Cities music scene for decades.
The event will feature several interactive archive workstations available throughout the venue.
This event is a unique opportunity to celebrate the diverse soundscape of Minnesota music, support D.E.M.O.'s invaluable work, and witness Rotary's ongoing leadership in community engagement and cultural impact.
